Farm & Fibre Mill
"Our philosophy of raising Huacaya Alpacas is simple - they give us the gift of fleece; and,
we give them a home for life!"
Twin Pines Alpacas Farm, established in 2010, is located in the rolling hills of Northumberland County. Our farm is home to our large herd of Huacaya Alpacas raised for their luxurious fleece. Alpaca fleece grows perpendicular to their body, giving them the appearance of being 'fluffy and soft'. We will host Farm Tours this summer where you can meet 'The Crew" and learn about life as an alpaca!
At Twin Pines Alpacas, we specialize in processing alpaca and merino fleece blended with other exotic fibres. Our fibre mill is complete and capable of transforming raw fleece into a number of products including our very own Farm Yarn, felt and rovings. Please watch for updates on when custom milling services will be available. All our products will be available for sale in our Farm Store this fall.
Our Farm Store is our unique onsite retail shop which we will host its' Grand Opening this fall. We are excited to offer a little something for everyone, including a wide selection of handmade and artisan goods sourced from small businesses and fair trade organizations from around the world. Click on the link below to read about some of the products we will offer.
Studio 65 will be our onsite fibre arts studio offering visitors and students alike the opportunity to watch, learn, create and be inspired. Designed to bring out the fibre artist in you, from beginner to expert, Studio 65 will be a future destination to take a workshop, watch fibre artist demonstrations or participate in one of our "Bring Your Own Wool (BYOW) Drop-ins".
